ARTE documentary with the title: Dream Islands - By bike in Crete
It was a great honor for me that the TV team from the TV program ARTE filmed my e-bike tours in April 2018. The documentary about Crete was broadcast on May 29, 2019 and after that also in other TV programs. The LINK to the film.
My goal is to introduce my guests to the island of Crete from a completely different perspective. Thanks to the convenience and speed of the Pedelecs, one can easily combine and enjoy the beauty of both the mountains and the sea. In addition, the experience and knowledge of the tour guide will form the bridge between the participants and the nature and people of Crete. However, in order to maintain the personal and more intimate character of the tours, no more than 6 people should participate in them.
Environment: Ecology constitutes an important concern for us. Consequently, not only is the E-Bike itself eco-friendly, but also all batteries are charged using solar power.

Get to know Crete by E-Bike
The beautiful island will present itself to you from a completely different perspective. Crete consists of 85% mountains and thus the e-bike is the most suitable means of transport to travel the island in a sporty, but at the same time, leisurely way. You will cycle through the touristically neglected inland with its endless vineyards and olive groves, visit centenarian trees, small chapels and picturesque villages and experience the hospitality of the old and young Cretans up close, accompanied by a local guide. Number of participants from 2 to 7 people |
What is an e-bike
An E-bike, or electric bicycle, operates using the power produced by its rider and an electric drive system. The Pedelec (Pedal Electric Cycle) is a special type of E-Bike whose movement power is generated by a built-in electric motor linked to the rider’s pedaling contribution. Travelling can become easier without feeling as tired or sweaty. The durability of the battery depends on the riding style, the weight of the rider, the wind and, of course, the morphology of the ground. On average, it can support the bike for approximately 60 km. Our electric bikes are equipped with 400 Wh batteries, which can cover very long distances in one day. |

Description of our day e-bike tours
Our day tours aim to show our visitors a large part of Crete by travelling at least 50 km daily. During the excursion visitors have the opportunity to see the beauty of the island from a different perspective. Only by bicycle or on foot can the traveller perceive the details of a journey, smell the scents of nature, see the colours of each season and come into contact with the locals. The duration of these tours is from 8 to 10 hours, i.e. from morning to afternoon. In addition to cycling and exploring the places we pass, our tours include lunch accompanied by wine and raki. Also at the end, after lunch we transfer our guests to the starting point by car. More details you find here. |
